My Priorities
Working Together for a Stronger Idaho

"Idaho is home. It’s where I raised my family, taught students, and built a life alongside my neighbors. In every corner of District 6; from the rural hills of Nez Perce County to the classrooms of Moscow and the University of Idaho, I see people who care deeply about their communities and their futures.
My goal as your senator is simple: to listen, to lead with common sense, and to work for solutions that help Idaho families, farmers, educators, and small business owners thrive. " - Lori McCann
These are the priorities that guide me every day.

Education
As a lifelong educator and advocate for Idaho’s students, Lori McCann believes that strong communities begin with strong schools. She is committed to ensuring every student—from our rural districts to the University of Idaho—has access to a quality education and the tools they need to succeed.
Strengthen support for Idaho’s teachers and school staff.
Expand career and technical education opportunities to prepare students for today’s workforce.
Invest in rural schools so that every child, no matter their ZIP code, has access to excellent learning environments.
Support higher education institutions like Lewis-Clark State College and the University of Idaho, recognizing their roles in building Idaho’s future workforce.
Agriculture
Agriculture is the lifeblood of North Central Idaho—and Lori McCann knows that firsthand. As a lifelong rancher and small business owner, she understands the challenges our farmers and ranchers face.
Protect Idaho’s family farms and ranches from unnecessary regulation.
Promote responsible use and management of water and natural resources.
Encourage innovation and agricultural education, ensuring the next generation is prepared to continue Idaho’s farming legacy.
Strengthen local markets and support agriculture-based small businesses that drive rural economies.

Infrastructure
Infrastructure is the foundation of safe, thriving communities. Whether it’s maintaining roads in our rural areas or ensuring growing communities have access to reliable utilities, Idaho must invest wisely in the systems that keep us connected.
Advocate for proper funding allocations for local roads, bridges, and transportation improvement projects.
Support investment in broadband and utility infrastructure to help rural areas grow and attract new opportunities.
Ensure infrastructure planning keeps up with economic development and population growth in Idaho’s diverse communities.
Business and Economic Development
Small businesses are the backbone of Idaho’s economy—and Rep. McCann is dedicated to creating an environment where they can thrive. Drawing from decades of hands-on experience managing family enterprises, she champions policies that empower entrepreneurs, not burden them with red tape.
Streamline regulations to reduce bureaucratic obstacles for small business owners.
Encourage entrepreneurship and job creation in rural and urban communities alike.
Support workforce development programs that connect Idahoans with good-paying local jobs.
Foster a fair, competitive business climate that strengthens Idaho’s economy while preserving its values of independence and hard work.
